tread lightly by TriffRaff tread lightly by TriffRaff
The war is over for this particular Alaerin. As she was falling back to the rest of her squad, she heard the all too distinctive click of a landmine being triggered. With the UECSF coming in close after her, there was nothing left to do but surrender.

As soon as the bomb squad fits her with some explosive ankle-bracelets, they'll disarm the mine (good thing the mine has to be so big and sophisticated, or else that would be really difficult...) and then march her off to...well, wherever they can find that can reasonably house a 35-foot alien POW.

The Legacyverse, and the Alaereen race in particular, was created by Durendal :icondurendal5150: I'm just using it for sketch-inspiration.

PS--I'm doing more backgrounds than I thought I would...Feel free to critique them. And the tech. Neither of those are what I consider my strong suits.

I have to think that disarming those bombs has to sort of suck for the crew as well. There's always the chance that she's a little bit of a nut job and would rather take them with her then be captured.

Eh, mine technitions don't have it worse than anywone else in that setting. Blown up or stomped on. Not a good choice either way...

I'm sure they have somewhere to keep her. I'm wondering how long the war lasted anyway. I've always wondered what happens to POWs after a war.

Yeah, they'll find 'somewhere', even if its just an empty warehouse somewhere....

I think typical practice is to simply return POWs to their home government once the peace is settled. March them home, and let them disperse from there. At least that's how its done between governments that respect each other. In other cases... :/

the war went from 2330-2333. I'm sure POWs were exchanged or otherwise released as early as during the peace talks after the events taking place on Marathon where Greywind was captured.

Ummm.... you know what, I can't actually think of anything right now. I was just going to brows through the Wiki if there was one. It seems like a cool little universe.
